Dogs have long eaten them as part of their natural diets. The liver, along with the brain and heart are rich in saturated fat and cholesterol which (believe it or not) is good for us as well as our pets!
The liver is an excellent source of B-group vitamins. And extremely high in Vitamin B2 which helps the body use energy and B12 which helps protect nerve fibres. Also very high in copper which helps create cells to protect the immune system. Plus Selenium, which helps prevent damage to cells. What a powerhouse!
