PETWELL Freeze Dried Green-Lipped Mussels
Freeze-dried green-lipped mussels (GLM) are an excellent source of omega-3 DHA – the long-chain unsaturated fat ideal for animal health. Omega-3s work by decreasing the level of inflammation linked to conditions like osteoarthritis.
As well as DHA and EPA, they also contain ETA, a third fatty acid. ETA is unique to green-lipped mussels making them a powerful anti-inflammatory. ETA is not found in oily fish. Because omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties, GLM are a wonderful ingredient for reducing swelling and pain in pets that are experiencing mobility issues.
In addition to the omega-3 content, green-lipped mussels are a standout because of their many additional nutrients including vitamin C and E, antioxidants, B vitamins.
They also contain minerals such as copper, zinc, and selenium. Along with glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate, which is a compound of connective tissue, they are all vital to pets’ joint health.
